Opera singer Sara Duchovnay on bravely following your dreams


Soprano singer Sara Duchovnay offers us a rare glimpse into the challenging yet rewarding life of an opera singer.

She shares her inspirational perspective on dealing with rejection and set backs and we pursue our goals, and reveals the roles focus, training and sheer determination have in guiding us to take the centre stage in our own life and dreams.

In addition to her talent in singing, Sara’s love for vintage and antique jewellery has also led her to become a curator, collector, and treasure hunter of beautiful pieces. It as honouring this other important passion that led her to set up Songbird Sara Jewelry.

Sara has performed in many prestigious roles, including Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Delaware, Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire with Opera San Jose, and Die erste Dienerin in Die ägyptische Helena with Odyssey Opera and Musetta in La bohème among many others.

A native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Sara holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Vocal Performance, was a previous studio artist at Opera Santa Barbara as well as an artist in residence at Opera Saratoga.
